If your image extends to the edge of the cut line, your page layout needs to extend to cover the standard 1/8 inch (3 mm) bleed on each side, but we strongly recommend you use a 1/4 inch (6 mm). This “safety area” is required to ensure that no apparent white or unprinted border is left around the edge during the cutting process. You should not place any important text or image in this area. Here is an example of a layout that was properly designed.
faq_bleed
Size must include bleed Unless otherwise specified, when we quote a print size, it is for that specific image area so you must design your layout to make bleeds inward at least 0.125". If your image bleeds outward, please include bleed when requesting a quote.
This is essentially the opposite of a bleed. Because of the slight inherent variation in where the actual cut is made, you should not put text (or anything important) within 1/4 inch (6 mm) of the desired cut line. Here is an example of a layout that was NOT properly designed.
In other words, a business card (for example) should measure 3.75 x 2.25 in. but the text should not be more than 1.75 x 3.25 in.
The card will then be cut at 3.5 x 2 in.
We do not recommend that you create a layout with borders because of the slight variation during the cutting process. The borders will come out uneven and we do not guarantee the end result.
HOW TO PREPARE YOUR FILES
Please review the following file specifications before sending in your digital files. If you are unsure about the specifications please do not hesitate to contact us prior to sending your file.
  • Quark Express Include all fonts & supporting images. Supporting images should be in CMYK color format. Vectorize you files and then convert your files to *PDF. Make sure to save everything at the highest quality or at a resolution of 300 dpi and to embed your fonts.
  • Adobe Illustrator Save file as an EPS Format, images should be embedded, and fonts should be converted to outlines. Vectorize you files and then convert your files to *PDF Make sure to save everything at the highest quality or at a resolution of 300 dpi and to embed your fonts.
  • Adobe Photoshop Your Photoshop files should be flattened and saved as TIFF document. Your document should be in CMYK color format. Vectorize you files and then convert your files to *PDF Make sure to save everything at the highest quality or at a resolution of 300 dpi and to embed your fonts.
  • *PDF Format We only accept PFD files that have been saved as a PostScript file from your native program first, then "distilled" using Acrobat Distiller using PRESS setting.
  • Fonts Please provide all the fonts used in your document, both printer and screen fonts. Send the whole font family (bold, italic, bold italic, etc.). PostScript fonts are ideal for quality printing. Alternatively, you can convert your fonts to outlines in Illustrator.
  • Scanning Scanned images should be of a professional standard and saved at an appropriate resolution of 300 dpi for continuous tone reproduction (photos and/or illustrations). Photos or scans should always be saved as CMYK in JPG format, vectorized and then transferred to a PDF file.
  • Spot UV For spot UV products, send a separate file for the spot UV on the FRONT and another separate file for the spot UV on the BACK. These files should be clearly identified and indicate the position by using a solid color.
  • Colors Please convert all your color images and graphics from RGB to CMYK prior to saving your PostScript and PDF files or sending your files. If you use spot colors or duotone images in your design please convert them to CMYK before saving.
  • Color Proofing Colors are printed to www.canadawebprint.ca's “pleasing color” standards. Matching your colors exactly is not guaranteed. If printing exactly your colors is critical colors a Color Key or Match Print is required. Inkjet or laser copies or other proofs are not acceptable as prepress color proofs.
If any element on your document layout makes contact with the document border you will have to use bleed. The trick is to place the element so that it goes over the border where the document will be cropped after printing.
The term bleed is used for all objects overlapping the border of your document

We recommend saving as a PDF file. You may also send the file in the following types: JPG, JPEG, TIF, TIFF, EPS, and PNG.

We prefer that you send PDF with embedded or outlined fonts. PDF files are easier to handle and will likely speed up your turn-around. Remember to flatten your files before uploading.

For Roll Labels, we recommend designing:

  • vector files (e.g. EPS or PDF)
  • 300 DPI or higher
  • use black (100% K)
  • for fine lines and text smaller than 9pt, use black (100% K) only

If you send us an RGB file, there is a chance that a color shift may occur and you may not be satisfied with your job.

We only accept 300 dpi files and no less.

Bleed must extend past the cut-line and will be trimmed from the product during the final cutting phase. When the image is required to extend all the way to the edge, bleed is needed to preserve the finished look and the quality of the final product.

Please keep all text at least 0.125" inside the cut-line.

  • The bleed for Standard Products is 0.125".
  • The bleed for Booklets and Presentation Folders is 0.25".

We recommend using our templates at all times.

Printing.coop requires Print Ready files with proper rotation. Files submitted are printed HEAD to HEAD as-is based off your files.

1390307148.gif
Make sure to set up your files so that when we print them HEAD to HEAD the final product will read the way you would like. Also, front and back files need to be set up either both sides vertically or both sides horizontally.

1628307455.gif
If you would like your back file to be upside down, please send your artwork as shown below.

701003451.gif
If you have a fold-over or greeting card, please send your artwork as shown.

718237018.gif
For files not properly set up, printing.coop will use best judgment and will not be responsible for improper rotation.

Any transparency issue can be resolved before saving your file.

When sending artwork, do not send extra files, like proofs or samples, because they might get printed. Only send the files you need printed.

DO NOT SEND THESE KINDS OF FILES
307945095

We are not responsible for these kinds of files being printed. Unless requested by one of our employees, DO NOT send files that you do not want printed.

Primarily used to intentionally overlap inks for a number of reasons, overprint can cause unexpected results. We suggest that you turn all overprint objects off before submitting your files.

No. We are now specifically set up to process one side at a time, and this requires that each side of a job must be on a separate file.

Not separating files will cause delays and you might have to send the files again. Remember to separate the pages of your .pdf files as well.

When creating a Spot UV job, you must include a Spot UV template file along with the regular print file. The Spot UV template file is used to show where the UV coating needs to be applied.

 Spot UV job
For better quality we recommend creating mask files in vector based programs such as Illustrator or CorelDRAW.

Please only use solid 100% K to indicate where you would like the UV. Do not use shadows, glows or grayscale images. White will indicate no UV.

Remember, if it's white, you can write!

When using a blue in your design, always make sure to leave at least a 30% difference in your Cyan and Magenta values.

Always check the CMYK values of your grayscale in the final CMYK document. If there are other values other than K in your grayscale image, there is a chance that the color will vary.

To eliminate all values other than K, use your Channel Mixer (adjustment layer) in Photoshop, then click "Monochrome" and adjust accordingly.

Rich black is an ink mixture of solid black, 100% K, with additional CMY ink values. This results in a darker tone than black ink alone. If you print black alone as 100% K, the resulting black may not be as dark as you might like.

Cracking of the edges of a business card sometimes occurs when the card contains high values of ink, as in dark colors.

CLOSE UP OF BUSINESS CARD
BUSINESS CARD

This usually happens on a small amount of cards in the run. To prevent this, use lighter colors or if you must use dark colors, use as little ink as possible.

Many things can cause banding. Banding can be caused by the program that it is exported from, such as Indesign or Corel. Also, too many gradient steps, for example going from a very light color to a dark color, in a small area will cause banding.

CLOSE UP OF BANDING

When a job is coated with UV then scored and folded the job may begin to crack. During use, the cracks will become bigger and the ink may start to chip off.

CLOSE UP SCORING
CLOSE UP SCORING

Cracking is normal when coated jobs are scored and folded. Ordering the job without UV will help but may not prevent this. As the job is used and folded more and more, cracking will eventually happen.

There are three different ways Pantone colors can affect the way your job prints.

The first is by object effects, such as shadows or glows, on top of your Pantone colors. Here is what the effects will look like on screen:

Pantone colors

After Pantone colors

Here is what the effect looks like after printing:

After Printing Pentone

transparency issues

As you can see, when a Pantone color is under these object effects, transparency issues show up during printing. To avoid this, convert all your Pantone colors into CMYK before submitting your order.

The second way Pantone colors can affect your file is when you use transparent images. Here is what a transparent image looks like on screen:

second way Pantone colors
Here is what a transparent image looks like after printing:

second way transparent image
You can see the image is no longer transparent on top of the Pantone color. These white areas will show up during printing. To fix this issue, convert all your Pantone colors into CMYK. This must be done before submitting the order.

The last way Pantone colors can affect your order is the color conversion between a Pantone color and CMYK. If you use Pantone colors in a job that will print CMYK, your job might print with undesirable colors.

Here are some examples of what the Pantone color looks like in the Pantone color book and what the CMYK print will look like:

CMYK Print
If you send in a job with Pantone colors, the CMYK conversion will change the Pantone color. Before sending your order, make sure all Pantone colors have been converted to CMYK.

Our Certified Templates are a great tool to create artwork that can be printed faster, easier, and more accurately. If you are using Illustrator, you can use our specialized EPS templates. If you are using something other then Illustrator, download the JPG version.

Here is what each of the lines mean inside the template:

Here is what an 8.5x11 brochure template looks like:

8.5x11 brochure
These templates will help you identify where the cut line, bleed line, and safety line, are located along with other information so you can design your art correctly.

Some of our templates are labeled as OUT and IN. This means that there is some folding involved with the template. OUT means the FRONT of the job and IN means the BACK. During the upload part of your order, remember that OUT is the FRONT and IN is the BACK.

Here is an example of the fold-over business card template:

fold-over

As you can see, OUT is the FRONT of the job and after folding, will be facing outward. You can also see the rotation of the job. The front must be positioned upside down so it can fold correctly.

Remember, do not move or change any part of the template when using them.

ESR quantities start from 25-250 and are printed on brand new, high tech digital equipment. These products are available at all of printing.coop's locations nationwide, for your convenience.

Our brand new Digital color presses are in a different class. The print quality of digital prints exceed professional standards. Here are a few facts about Digital Color Printing:

  • Tests show digital quality matches offset.
  • Digital printing offers larger color gamut.
  • Print buyers find digital quality interchangeable with offset quality.
  • Today, many showcase applications are printed digitally.
  • Digital printing is more affordable for short runs, due to very low set up cost.

*disclaimer: Occasionally, quantities of up to 5000 and more might be printed using digital color technology in order to meet turnaround deadlines

When designing plastic cards, it is important to keep in mind that the frosted and clear plastic cards are transparent. Also, all plastic cards come with round corners at no extra charge!

plastic cards

As you can see, the difference in the transparency is shown in the image above. The clear cards (right) are completely transparent. The frosted cards (center) are semi-transparent and cannot be seen through easily. The opaque white plastic cards (left) are solid white and not transparent at all. Keep this in mind when designing your plastic cards, it will affect how your design will print.

WHITE FROSTED CLEAR

  • Printing on Clear and Frosted Plastic Cards will come out slightly lighter than average compared to other stocks. This is due to the plastic itself and is not a production issue.
  • When setting up a rich black value, please make sure to use C 60 M 40 Y 40 K 100 values. Do not use all 100 since it will cause problems and will not print any darker on plastic.

Since there is no white ink in CMYK, it is important to keep in mind that the frosted and clear plastic cards are transparent. The three designs above are the same as in the first picture. You will notice that the white area in the clear cards (right) and the frosted cards (center) has no ink and will show the transparent material it's printed on. In this case, the clear cards and frosted cards white area show up with no ink on the printed piece. Also, keep in mind that all colors that are printed on clear cards or frosted cards will be transparent as well.

With the clear plastic cards, there might be a small percentage that may have light scratches. This issue originates from the manufacturer and is due to the material and handling. To help compensate for this, we run overs of the clear plastic cards to help meet the required quantity.

Clear plastic cards will come with a thin protective layer on one side that can be peeled off. This is to prevent the cards from scratching during packaging and shipping.

We can only use one type of foil per order so for example you can not order a Foil Worx job with Gold foil on the front and Silver foil on the back. Foil job files are set up just like our Spot UV job files. You must provide a separate Foil mask file: black in the areas you want the foil and white in the areas you do not want the foil. All black areas should be solid 100% K with no other added colors. If you order a Foil Worx job with Spot UV, you'll need to provide separate mask files for the Foil (foil mask) and UV (spot uv mask), in which case you may be required to provide up to 6 files. Please keep in mind, however, that the Foil and UV coating can't overlap, both should be at least 1/16" apart to avoid foil peeling off. Also, avoid using small / fine text or lines for foil objects. For best results, please make sure that foil coverage is less than 50% of the entire print side. Also, be aware that there may be up to a 1/16" shift on the placement of the foil. Keep this in mind if you are trying to align foil with other printed artwork on the card.

1059469178

For better quality we recommend creating mask files in vector based programs such as Illustrator or CorelDRAW.

We offer 1/4" and 1/8" radius round corners to all of our customers. The image below shows the two different radiuses for comparison.

 1/4

With Akuafoil, you can turn a wide range of CMYK colors into multi-colored foils. Akuafoil uses a special processed foil system that is applied under a 4/c process to create an array of foil colors. It's simple, affordable, and makes your prints stand out from the crowd.

For an Akuafoil job, you must include an Akuafoil mask file along with your CMYK file. The mask file indicates where the Akuafoil will be applied. The file setup is the same as Spot UV. Use 100% K where Akuafoil needs to be applied and white where the Akuafoil is not applied.

Akuafoil

As shown above, the file on the left is the normal CMYK print file. If you want the logo to be Akuafoil, then your Akuafoil mask file should look like the file on the right. The white indicates no Akuafoil and black 100% K indicates where the Akuafoil will be applied. When uploading, please remember to upload separate files.

Here are some more things to keep in mind when creating your Akuafoil artwork:

Make sure the mask and CMYK print file are aligned. They should match exactly in size and position.

  • Akuafoil works best on lighter colors. The darker the CMYK color, the less vibrant the Akuafoil effect.
  • Do not use very thin or small text and artwork with Akuafoil. Use San Serif fonts above 12 point for best results.
    • If you have Akuafoil applied to a white area, it will have a plain silver Akuafoil look.
    • For better quality we recommend creating mask files in vector based programs such as Illustrator or CorelDRAW.

If you would like plain silver Akuafoil to print, make sure to have at least 15% K in the CMYK print file area in order to obtain the highest quality silver Akuafoil effect.

plain silver Akuafoil

When creating knockouts in the Akuafoil mask or in the CMYK print file, please be aware that there might be a "Halo" of white around the knockout area. Below are two examples: On the left, a file with a CMYK magenta background and a knockout for the Akuafoil text. On the right, an Akuafoil background with a knockout for the CMYK text.

knockout for the CMYK
These are the printed results:

Print knockout for the CMYK

You can see the white "Halo" in-between the CMYK ink and the Akuafoil. To prevent this, grow/stroke the Akuafoil area in the mask by 1 point. This will allow the Akuafoil to bleed into the CMYK area, reducing the white "Halo" effect. You can also fill in the knockout with a color to reduce the effect further.

Booklets are a little more complex to design. Also, if you have artwork you created from another company, it might not meet printing.coop rules.

Here are rules to follow when creating your Booklets:

  • Page counts start on the cover as page 1, inside cover as page 2 and so on.
  • Total bleed is .25” and total Safety is .5”. For example, an 8.5x11 booklet with bleed should be 8.75x11.25 total. This allows us to set up your crossovers properly.
  • Only single pages will be accepted. NO readers OR printers spreads.
  • We prefer a multipage PDF but single page files are also ok.

Our page counts for booklets start on the cover as page 1, inside cover as page 2 and so on. In the example below, you will see a 8pg booklet. Each page will show the page number. Click and hold the page corners to turn the page. This is also reflected in our templates.

Crossovers are common in booklets and require extra attention. A Crossover is an image, text or other graphic element that goes from one page to another.

Below you can see a good example of how to create crossovers:

Crossovers

Designers must pay close attention to the crossover design and make sure it is as seamless as possible on the finished piece. Also, do not use text or thin lines as crossovers. Big pictures work best.

Note: Due to the nature of saddle stitch binding, crossovers may not line up 100% on the final booklet.

Artwork done in Indesign or other layout software as spreads or facing pages must be saved out as single page pdfs. When creating your design, keep this in mind especially when doing crossovers. The easiest way is to create the bleed is when creating your document. Below are instructions on how to create your document in Indesign.

When creating your document, make your page size the cut size and your margin size .25” for safety for a .5” total:

Cut Size

Then, click the More Options button on the right. It will reveal Bleed and Slug settings below. Enter .125” as the bleed for a total of .25”:

Bleed and Slug

EDDM is a U.S. Postal Service program developed to help businesses get their promotions and advertisements into the hands of a targeted audience, while reducing the cost of preparing and delivering mailing campaigns. It's the perfect solution for businesses large and small, allowing you to target homes in your area or across the country. No mailing list or postage permit is required, which saves you time and money. We have a Print Only option, where we print the pieces and you handle the rest of the process with USPS and a Full Service solution, where we take care of everything. With Full Service, postage is as low as 15.7¢ per piece, saving you a bundle over first class rates!

EDDM Print Only includes sizes and options which are USPS approved for EDDM processing. We print and ship to you just like a normal postcard. Be aware that artwork must include an approved USPS EDDM indicia, return address and must be designed within USPS EDDM specifications. Please visit the USPS website  Click Here! for more information.

EDDM Full Service takes all the guess work out of the EDDM process. Choose your print product, then select your routes using our simple and easy online route selection map, then upload your artwork. We take care of the printing, bundling, EDDM processing, paperwork and delivery to USPS. The USPS postage fee is included in the final price at checkout.

Indicia and Return Address Positioning:

  • our indicia and a return address must be on the artwork.
  • the indicia and return address must be on one side of the print piece.
  • the indicia and return address must be positioned in the top half of the artwork.
  • for 4/0 artwork, the indicia and address must be placed on the front.

Below is a sample of our full service template for the proper lay out of your artwork:

Proper layout

PDF files are recommended. We accept the following file types: pdf, jpg, jpeg, tif, tiff, eps, and png.

First, enter a street address or zip code for the area you are interested in. The map will display all of the USPS carrier routes in a radius of 1 mile by default. You may expand the radius using the drop down menu on right above the map. Select different routes on the map by clicking on the route on the map; it will highlight to indicate it is selected. Deselect a route by clicking on it again. If you prefer, click List View on the bottom right, then use the check boxes to the left of each route to select or deselect the route. The list view panel shows the number of Residential and Business addresses on each route and income demographics. There is also a check box to choose Residential Only, if you prefer to exclude business addresses. This panel also shows the current total for your order, including postage based on the routes you selected.

All of our Roll Labels have a 3" core and an outer diameter of up to 6".

Our Roll Labels are available in the following standard shapes: Oval, Circle, Square (with Round Corners) and Rectangle (with Round Corners). Custom Shapes are also available for the following sizes: 1" x 1", 2" x 2", 3" x 3", 4" x 4", 5" x 5" and 6" x 6".

Yes, Custom Shaped Roll Labels are available for the following sizes: 1" x 1", 2" x 2", 3" x 3", 4" x 4", 5" x 5" and 6" x 6". Choose from the size that best fits your needs, then select the Shape Option: Custom Roll Label. On the upload page you will be asked to upload the Front Artwork file and the Custom Shape File.

Custom Roll Label File Guidelines:

  • Custom shape file must be created a vector and saved as an EPS or PDF
  • Custom shape file should represent the cut line
  • Custom shape file should be a black line, 0.5pt to 1pt thick
  • Thin lines and small shapes are not recommended
  • Shapes smaller than 1/8" may have unexpected results and are not recommended
  • Bleed for Roll Labels is 0.125" from the cut line on all sides

Example of Custom Roll Label:

Custom Roll Label

All of our Roll Labels have a 3" core and an outer diameter of up to 6". This will fit most hand-applied dispensers – please check the specifications of the dispenser prior to purchase if you'll be using our Roll Labels with any other dispenser.

Our Roll Labels are very high quality but the print may not be as sharp as it is with Offset – you may lose some quality, particularly with images. Try to keep all images above 300 dpi.

The Unwind Direction is simply the direction in which a label unwinds from a roll.

label unwinds

The bleed and safety line measurements are different to other products so we highly recommend using them. Total bleed is 0.125" out from the cut line and total safety is 0.125" inside the cut line. Please ensure that the size of your artwork is the same size as the roll label that you are ordering and that it includes the correct amount of bleed. If your uploaded artwork is smaller than the required size it will not print correctly.

With Clear Labels, you have the option to use white ink as your base color so your prints can be opaque in some areas and transparent in others. With Bright Metallic Silver, white ink will hide the foil material to make solid colors.

Similar to Spot UV masks, White Mask files are separate from your artwork files and Black color indicates where the white ink will print.

Make sure to create your mask file the same size as your color art file. This will prevent alignment issues during printing.

Note: White Masks must be made in vector form as shapes and be saved as EPS or PDF.

Use vector paths/shapes to create black color areas that will indicate where the white ink base will go. The rest of the area will represent the Metallic or Transparent label stock.

Here is a sample of a printed clear label with white ink. First how the artwork and white mask files look like, then a printed piece from these files:

printed clear label with white ink

Transparent Label

Here is a sample of a Bright Metallic Silver label with white ink. First how the artwork and white mask files look like, then a printed piece from these files:

CMYK Artwork file

No CMYK Color

Black in the white mask file indicates where white ink will be printed. Remember the following when creating a white mask for your white ink base:

  • White ink base will be printed behind any color that’s in your Artwork Layer.
  • Areas with color but without a White Mask will be printed with color directly on the material. This means Clear stock will have transparent color and Metallic stock will have Metallic color.
  • Areas with color and a White Mask will be printed as opaque or solid color.
  • Areas with a White Mask and no color will be printed as white.

Roll Labels are suitable for use with food products and items that may come into contact with moisture/humidity/water/condensation only when an intervening layer of FDA approved food-contact material is used. This additional layer helps the label to adhere more securely making it less likely to present issues. It is the responsibility of our customers or the end-user to ensure that use of the products conform to the relevant FDA regulations.

All square and rectangle shapes come with industry standard 1/8 inch rounded corners for easy removal from the liner.

Bright Silver Metallic

  • 2mil* stock is durable with a chemical resistant topcoat. As they are not oil and water resistant, they are recommended for indoor use.

Clear BOPP

  • 2.3mil stock is oil and water resistant but is only recommended for indoor use.

70lb Eggshell Felt

  • 70lb is manufactured with wet strength properties to increase performance in moist environments and is recommended for indoor use.

Semi-Gloss

  • 55lb stock is NOT oil and water resistant and is only recommended for indoor use.

White BOPP

  • 2.3mil stock is oil and water resistant but is only recommended for indoor use.

If selecting our 5/0 option, a white mask will be required. Please refer to the question above (How do I set up and create a Bright Silver Metallic or Clear Roll Label with white ink?) for instructions on how to set up your white ink file.

When any CMYK colors overlap the white mask areas, we recommend adding a stroke that's between 1 and 2 pixels larger than the underlying white elements.

We recommend using an 8 point font or larger on all Bright Metallic Roll Labels in order to avoid thin lines which could result in poor ink adhesion or registration.

For some substrates, we offer either a 1.0 mil clear silk overlaminate or a 1.0 mil clear gloss overlaminate.

Overlaminating helps maximize label protection, adding extreme temperature and abrasion resistance, as well as protection from chemical exposure. Overlaminating is also an aesthetic enhancement with both Silk and Gloss options.

Semi-Gloss without lamination and Eggshell Felt can easily be written on with a ball point pen. Permanent markers work on all substrates and on laminated roll labels, if allowed to fully dry. You may not be able to write on roll labels with gel, ink or other types of pens, nor can you write with pencil. It is recommended that you test your specific application.

Make sure to design with 100% K (black). Small text that is 9pt or lower must be 100% K only. Your image resolution should be 300 DPI or higher. Design vector files. Recommended file types are EPS or PDF with a vector base.

We recommend designing Barcode and QR code images using 100% K (black) only to assure clear quality and prefer vector files.

Create your artwork using a vector based software program such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign or Corel DRAW. Save or export your files as EPS or PDF. Outline or embed your fonts to avoid font substitution issues.

Perfect Binding gives your booklets a more finished, refined look. With this binding method, the pages and cover are glued together at the spine with a strong, yet flexible, thermal glue.

Templates are available for both the cover and inside pages of the Perfect Bound Booklets. Download templates here.

Please note: Unlike our regular Booklets, the page count specified in the product name does not include the cover.

  • E.g. "8.5 x 11, 52-Pages" will require you to upload 48 inside pages + 4-page cover file (which is always 4:0).Perfect Bound Booklets

We recommend you do not specifically design on the spine. Backgrounds or images that wrap around the book are preferred. Creating designs with text, borders or colors that are centered only on the spine may cause it to look uneven during the binding process. Templates are available for the covers of the Perfect Bound Catalogs and relate to the number of inside pages. The normal 8.5x11 and 8.5x5.5 flat, Flyer templates can be used for all the inside pages

Currently we do not offer samples for Perfect Bound Catalogs.

Yes, printing.coop Bumper Stickers are intended for use on car bumpers and are resistant to even the harshest weather conditions. Outdoor application will not result in product damage.

Digital Envelopes are pre-converted and printed on high tech digital equipment.

Offset Envelopes are printed on offset gang runs, then die cut and converted to envelopes.

  • Both are printed on 70LB Premium Opaque stock.
  • 1/16” overbleed and color wrap onto the back of the envelope is required to allow for movement throughout the bindery process.
  • Solid, full color envelopes are recommended (to eliminate overbleed).
  • Intentional extension of flap color onto envelope face is recommended.
  • Gradients are recommended for smoother color transitions.
  • The bleed required is 0.125" (0.0625" on each side).
  • Text and images should be at least 0.25" from the edge.
  • Artwork with more than 40% ink coverage must be submitted as an offset product.

Our 14pt Metallic Pearl paper is a unique stock that shimmers in light when viewed from different angles. The stock itself is embedded with Pearl fibers that give the paper an overall smooth, metallic look. Printing on this stock will give your CMYK colors a subtle shimmer, however heavy ink densities or coverage may diminish the effect.

Appropriately sized (A2, A6, A7, A9 and 6.5" square) 80# Pearl Text blank envelopes are offered as an option with our Pearl Greeting Cards and Announcement Cards.

Long Edge Binding means the finished book is portrait, Short Edge binding means the finished book will be landscape. For our short run quantities 25 - 200, only Long Edge binding is available.

In order to preserve leading zeroes on your Variable Number CSV file (e.g. 001, 0001) please Format the Cells as Text before creating your numbered list.

To include leading zeros: Right-click (or control click) on the first few cells, then Choose Format Cells > Text or Plain Text. Once your cells are formatted, proceed with creating your numbered list. You should be able to see your numbering correctly before saving your document.

Note: If you close and reopen your document or look at a preview of the document, it will appear that the CSV has reverted and your leading zeroes were deleted. However, be assured that is not the case. As long as you were able to see the leading zeros at the time you saved the document, your CSV has the leading zeros. It is safe to upload your CSV and your leading zeroes will be preserved.

We require a 0.5 inch bleed on all sides. If ordering at 8.5" x 11", your file size should be 9.5" x 12" with bleed.

While most products are produced in all Production Centers, there are some situations where a Production Center is unable to produce (or does not produce) a certain product. In these cases, the order will be produced in the next closest Production Center to the destination address.

Yes, in certain markets printing.coop does have Operation Centers, which are not yet Production Centers, allowing certain local customers in those markets to benefit from printing.coop's unique services, like Local Delivery and Pickup. The Operation Centers are supported by the next closest Production Center. Chicago, San Jose, Tampa, Boston, Las Vegas, and Washington, DC are examples of current Operation Centers.

Please allow one additional business day for your order to be transferred from the next closest Production Center to the Operation Center. Local Delivery or Pickup will be available on the next business day following transfer from the Production Center.

Luster cards are printed on 16pt card stock and have a 3mil gloss lamination making them 22pt thick.

Luster Cards are water resistant, but not waterproof. This means the cards stand up well when they come in contact with a small amount of water, but cannot be submerged in water without water seeping into the card and causing damage. Please test your specific application to ensure the cards are appropriate for that use.

Digital Letterheads can be imprinted on using some inkjet printers, however we strongly suggest that you test your specific application and printer. When excessive pressure is applied with a rigid object, imprinted areas may scratch or flake off. For best results, low ink coverage is recommended. Digital Letterheads are not recommended for laser imprinting applications.

Yes, Offset Letterheads can be imprinted on with inkjet and laser printers.

EDGE Cards are made of three premium quality stocks adhered together creating an ultra thick, 32pt triple layered card with a colored core.

Face Stock: 9pt Bright White Premium uncoated with a Smooth finish

Insert Stock: 14pt Premium Opaque Black

Yes, EDGE Cards are made of premium uncoated paper and are easily written on. We suggest you test your specific application.

EDGE Cards are made to last for years under normal conditions. Cards exposed to exceedingly high temperatures will have undesirable results. For example, if one were to expose these cards to a very high heat for extended periods of time, like in the windshield of a car, the longevity of the cards will be compromised. EDGE Cards should not be exposed to excessive heat or cold, as well as excessively dry or humid environments.

We start with 16pt stock as a base and apply 1.5mil soft velvet, scuff resistant laminate to both sides of the sheet for a total thickness of 19pt. The soft velvet lamination adds a soft supple look and feel, which softens colors, reduces contrast and gives an overall lighter, muted appearance.

Suede Cards are water resistant, but not waterproof. This means the cards stand up well when they come in contact with a small amount of water, but cannot be submerged in water without water seeping into the card and causing damage. Please test your specific application to ensure the cards are appropriate for that use.

The term “Suede” refers to the soft, supple texture of the cards, not the actual materials used. A soft velvet laminate is applied to both sides of the card to achieve a luxurious suede-like look and feel.

NCR Forms are the modern alternative to carbon paper and are an efficient way to provide multicolored copies of a single document with handwritten or typed information. Use them as order forms, packing lists, invoices, receipts, and more.

They're available in 2 Part (White, Canary) and 3 Part (White, Canary, Pink) collated sets that are glued on the short edge. NCR Forms are printed on 20LB stock on high tech digital equipment.

Yes, NCR forms come collated in 2 Part or 3 Part sets. They come in 2 Part (White, Canary) and 3 Part (White, Canary, Pink) forms and are glued on the short edge.

Our NCR forms can be imprinted on variety of equipment, but we recommend you test your specific application.

NCR Forms are available with full color (CMYK) print on each sheet or as one color, 1/0 (K). We only accept one artwork file which will be printed on all parts of the NCR Form.

The 1/0 means black ink only. Files not submitted as grayscale will be converted to grayscale and the conversion might result in print issues.

NCR Forms are commonly used for order forms, packing lists, invoices, applications and receipts. They are particularly useful when information must be written by hand.

  • Full bleed is not available on NCR Forms
  • At least 0.25" of space on the glued edge (short edge) should be free of ink
  • Full color and solid colored backgrounds are not recommended, as it may effect your ability to read the text and write on the form
  • Light ink coverage is highly recommended

Yes. We will email a PDF Proof to the email address on your printing.coop account. The PDF proof will show an example of one NCR Form with numbering. Reply to the email with your approval by mentioning 'Okay to Print As Is' or request a FTP code to upload revised files. Revised files will be processed and a new proof will be sent for your approval.

If your background images are dark, you may need to KO (knock out) the background image in the numbering areas, so that the numbers are visible.

Note: The CSV data file may contain up to 5 digits or characters for each record.

Artwork file formats: We recommend pdf. You may also send the following types: jpg, jpeg, tif, tiff, eps, and png.

Data file format: We accept csv (comma delimited) format only.

Note: The CSV data file may contain up to 5 digits or characters for each record.

Choose from the 4 numbered areas shown in the example below. You may choose as few or as many areas as you like. Indicate which areas you would like to utilize by naming the Column Headers on your CSV Data File with the corresponding Area Name.

Note: The CSV data file may contain up to 5 digits or characters for each record. See example below.

No, printing.coop does not proofread, flag or correct errors. It is your responsibility to double check and ensure the accuracy of your data.

Printing.coop will print the artwork based on your data file. For example if your run size is 500 and your data file has 450 records, we will only print 450 NCR Forms with Variable Numbering.

Printing.coop will print the full run size ordered. If your CSV Data File contains more records than the run size ordered, printing.coop will not print those additional records.

A wrap around cover is a protective cover that is attached to the top back of the NCR form which then wraps around it, coming back up and all the way to the top in the front.

A wrap around cover is inserted under the first set to protect the copies underneath and prevent unwanted transfer.

No, we do not offer printing on the wrap around cover.

The 2 part forms will come as books of 50 quantity.

The 3 part forms will come as books of 35 quantity.

You would need 0.75" on top. Anything within this area will be covered.

Clear Window Clings are made of 8mil thick clear glossy material with a paper backer that will be peeled off prior to application. They are suitable for indoor or outdoor use. Ideal for POP signage on glass or other very smooth, clean surfaces. Excessive heat or cold will not allow the product to cling to the surface.

With Clear Window Clings, you have the option to use white ink as an overprint so your printed graphic can be opaque in some areas and transparent in others. This will allow for vibrant, crisp color.

Similar to Spot UV masks, White Mask files are separate from your artwork files and black color indicates where the white ink will print.

Make sure to create your mask file the same size as your color art file. This will prevent alignment issues during printing.

Note: White Masks must be made in vector format and be saved as EPS or PDF and use 100% K.

Use vector paths/shapes to create black color areas that will indicate where the white ink base will go. The rest of the area will represent the Clear Window Cling stock.

Black in the White Mask file indicates where white ink will be printed. Remember the following when creating a white mask for your white ink base:

  • White ink base will be printed behind any color that’s in your Artwork Layer.
  • Areas with color but without a White Mask will be printed with color directly on the material. These areas will have somewhat transparent color due to the Clear substrate.
  • Areas with color and a White Mask will be printed as opaque or solid color.
  • Areas with a White Mask and no color will be printed as white.
  • The black for the White Mask file must be 0% C 0% M 0% Y 100% K or it will not be recognized by preflight.
  •

If your Clear Window Cling is intended to be viewed from the outside of a window, please select "Mounted From Inside" when building the product. Also, the artwork should be reversed prior to submission. See images below.

936297151

As long as the cling remains clean it can be reused several times. We recommend that you keep the backing to protect the cling if you plan to reuse it.

Start with by thoroughly cleaning and drying the window or application surface. Use a spray bottle filled with soapy water to spray to completely cover the application area. We recommend 1% soap and 99% water. Carefully peel away the backing and avoid letting the cling fold over on itself. Place the side that had the backing against the surface and apply the cling to the window. Use a squeegee or credit card to squeeze out access water pressing from the center outwards. You can spray more soapy water on the back of the graphic to lubricate the surface as you are eliminating air bubbles.

Brown Kraft paper is light brown with natural fibers and subtle visible flecks lending it a natural, organic look and feel. The uncoated smooth finish provides excellent print quality, while the colored stock adds warmth and a rustic appeal to images. Optional white ink can be applied in specific areas or all over giving you the flexibility to add contrast and brighten images. Brown Kraft is 100% recycled with a minimum of 30% post-consumer waste content.

Please be aware that recycled and colored stocks may have slight color variation due to the materials used to manufacture the paper. The flecks in the paper will also vary from sheet to sheet and press run to press run.

1799553512

Brown Kraft has the option to add white ink as an overprint. The white will be a base for the CMYK providing a bright white surface which will allow for vibrant, crisp color. Areas without white ink will appear darker due to the color of the stock.

Similar to Spot UV masks, White Mask files are separate from your artwork files. Black in the White Mask file indicates where white ink will be printed.

Make sure to create your mask file the same size as your artwork file. This will prevent alignment issues during printing.

Note: White Masks must be made in vector format and be saved as EPS or PDF. Please be aware that anything less than 100%K will be transparent and allow the brown stock to show through.

Use vector paths/shapes to create black color areas that will indicate where the white ink base will go. The rest of the areas will show the Brown Kraft stock.

Remember the following when creating a white mask for your white ink base:

  • White ink base will be printed behind any color that’s in your Artwork Layer.
  • Areas with color but without a White Mask will be printed with color directly on the material.
  • Areas with color and a White Mask will be printed as opaque or solid color.
  • Areas with a White Mask and no color will be printed as white.

Appropriately sized (A2, A6, A7) 80lb Brown Kraft blank envelopes are offered as an option with our Brown Kraft Greeting Cards and Announcement Cards.

Raised Spot UV jobs are set up the same way as Spot UV jobs. When creating a Raised Spot UV job, you must include a Raised Spot UV mask file along with the regular print file.

Please note, the mask file must be vector art created in vector-based programs such as Illustrator.

The Raised Spot UV mask file is used to show where the UV coating needs to be applied.

Please only use solid 100% K (C 0%, M 0%, Y 0%, K 100%) to indicate where you would like the UV. Do not use shadows, glows or grayscale images. White will indicate no UV.

Spot UV is a flat finish of a shiny layer that goes on the exact spot where you would like your printed piece to have an area of a high gloss coating.

Raised Spot UV is the same process, except the UV that gets applied stands out from the product, that if you run your fingers over the card you will feel the UV. The depth of the Raised Spot UV is 50 microns.

It is recommended that you do not use smaller than 6pt font on the Raised Spot UV Artwork. If, however, you use fonts with thicker strokes, it is recommended that you do not use smaller than 9pt font.

666899024

When designing a Raised Spot UV greeting card file, please make sure to leave the mask file at least 0.25" away from the scoring line to avoid varnish breakage and allow for easy folding.

For best results, please make sure that UV coverage is less than 30%. Otherwise, the cards will be stuck together and become a block of cards. Also, The mask file must be a vector art created in a vector-based program such as Illustrator. Otherwise, you won't have sharp edges on the artwork.

Up to 70% coverage is acceptable only with patterns, thin strokes or small shapes. Ideally, the size of the area, shape or image covered with raised foil should not exceed 1in x 1in.

Please see the pictures below for reference.

For a Presentation Folder please download our templates, it is important to note that they are printed flat.

The designation of the pockets is based on the flat images so when choosing pockets be mindful of this, please use the following image as an example.

1198830789

Cracking is normal when coated jobs are scored and folded. Ordering the job without UV will help but may not prevent this. As the job is used and folded more and more, cracking will eventually happen. For black Ink or dark designs the higher the ink density, the more likelihood of cracking.

Yes, when selecting 4/4 the uploader will require two files, here is where Front will designate the cover and back cover of the final piece and Back will be considered the inside of the folder.

No, please use our template to design the art but remove and do not include guides for slits, if a template is sent as a layer on the art it will print.

For a greeting card, please send your artwork as shown.

You will be able to choose envelopes as an extra option.

14pt Natural Cards are a light cream, natural white color with a smooth finish. The stock has a minimum of 30% post-consumer waste content

Appropriately sized (A2, A6, A7, A9 and 6.5" square) 70# Natural White Text blank envelopes are offered as an option with our Natural Greeting Cards and Announcement Cards.

Painted Edge cards are 32pt uncoated business cards that are getting painted on the edges of the cards based on the chosen edge color.

Painted edge card file setup is just like any other 4/0 or 4/4 cards.

Your design might slightly change the way the edge color turns out. This will be more noticeable with dark and light color backgrounds. We recommend having a solid background color. This difference will be more noticeable when the cards are stacked, but less noticeable once you hold up an individual card by itself.

Raised Foil cards are printed on 16pt card stock, laminated on both sides with 1.5mil scuff resistant, soft velvet laminate, which gives them a substantial thickness of 19pt.

Raised Foil jobs require a mask file. When creating a Raised Foil job, you must include a Raised Foil mask file along with the regular print file. The Raised Foil mask file is used to show where the foil needs to be applied.

Please note, the mask file must be a vector file created in vector-based programs such as Illustrator.

Please only use solid 100% black color (C 0%, M 0%, Y 0%, K 100%) to indicate where you would like the foil. Do not use shadows, glows or grayscale images. White will indicate no foil.

Knockouts are not recommended since there may be a shift (up to 1/16”) when the foil is applied.

We highly recommend having a solid color behind the foil mask. We do not recommend having any artwork or text under the foil mask since it might be visible through the foil mask. Knockouts are not recommended since there may be a shift (up to 1/16”) when the foil is applied.

Foil Coverage should be no more than 30% of the artwork, otherwise the foil will be wavy and won’t look good. The only time a 50% coverage is acceptable is with patterns, thin strokes or small shapes. Ideally, the size of the area, shape or image covered with raised foil should not exceed 1in x 1in.

Foil Worx has a flat finish foil whereas Raised Foil has a raised foil finish, that if you run your fingers over the card you will feel the foil. The height of the foil is approximately 60 microns.

We do not recommend having fonts smaller than 10pt on the Raised Foil Artwork. However, if you use fonts with thicker strokes or bold fonts, we do not recommend having fonts smaller than 12pt.

Please see the picture below for reference.

4mm thickness.

Purpose:

  • Typically used for Yard or Parking signs (e.g. Real Estate, Election, Reserved For, etc.) Depending on it's use - material will have to be oriented appropriately to ensure the flutes are vertical, in the case of utilizing an H-stake with the sign. H-stake is best used on a soft ground environment (dirt/soil/grass, etc.) This product once printed, may show a linear effect due to its' corrugated flute structure. Ink is UV Cured (dried).

Bleed:

  • ensure you have .5" on all sides of your artwork, do not add crops.

10mm thickness.

Purpose:

  • Typically used for Yard or Parking signs (e.g. Real Estate, Election, Reserved, etc.). 10mm means this sign is 6mm thicker than our standard 4mm Coroplast Sign, resulting in a durability that makes this product ideal for use in areas that are prone to harsh weather conditions. At regular temperatures, oils, solvents and water have no effect on Coroplast which also lends nicely to the endurance of the sign.

Please be aware that the corrugated flute structure results in a very subtle linear effect (faint lines) on the product's surface.

PDF, JPG, TIF / PC or MAC

PDF is highly recommended.

This depends on what the final output size will be, and its viewing distance.
Please reference our Scale & Resolution Example Chart and Letter Visibility Chart below:

306176560

2121572766

It is not always necessary to scale your artwork. Scaling artwork can help to keep the file size manageable. Here are a few things to keep in mind if you are scaling your artwork.

Vector Art

  • Printing.coop is able to print outdoor banners as large as 150ft x 16ft, however most software is not able to produce an art board larger than 228". Adobe Acrobat and other PDF readers / converters are only able to view a maximum file size of 200", resulting in a loss of artwork. For this reason, it is recommended to submit files at a smaller scale than the ordered size.

Raster Art

  • Raster files are calculated by pixels rather than inches. The pixels are converted to inches based on the resolution of a file. The equation for the conversion is (pixels divided by dpi = inches). Raster files have a limitation of 30,000 pixels. A file that is 30,000 pixels set at 150 dpi will be 16' (200"). If your artwork is more than 30,000 pixels, we recommend dropping your dpi or scaling down your artwork.

Resolution & Scale Charts

  • Printing.coop is fully automated and expands/constricts file sizes to the ordered size. Resolution varies based on the substrate and ink used to print the final product. If your artwork needs to be scaled, we recommend using the following information as a basic guide:

Outdoor Banners:

  • Full scale at approximately 100dpi
  • Half scale at approximately 200dpi
  • Quarter scale at approximately 300dpi
    • Note: Banners larger than 15 feet will print below 100dpi

Flags:

  • Full scale at approximately 150dpi

Canvas:

  • Full scale at approximately 250dpi

Coroplast and Adhesive Vinyl

  • Full scale at approximately 200dpi

Foamcore:

  • Full scale at approximately 250dpi

PVC:

  • Full scale at approximately 250dpi

Indoor Banners, Car Magnets, Floor Graphics and Large Posters:

  • Full scale at approximately 300dpi

Table Runners:

  • Full scale at approximately 200dpi

Adhesive Vinyl:

  • Full scale at 100 dpi. vector artwork is preferred

No, please ensure all fonts are outlined prior to file upload. If using Photoshop, please provide the flattened file only.

Absolutely not. Printing.coop's upload and design tool gives us exactly what we need to know when trimming your order. Please do not include crop marks, color bars, registration marks or any other indicators that you do not want printed on the final piece.

Yes. Borders are an issue because all substrates will vary from batch to batch making exact cuts very difficult. We recommend that you do not design your file with a border. If you do Printing.coop will not reprint an order with borders of varying widths. If you absolutely must have a border make it at least 2 inches in thickness, however Printing.coop still does not recommend borders.

Primarily used to intentionally overlap inks for a number of reasons, overprint can cause unexpected results. We suggest that you turn all overprint objects off before submitting your files.

Rich black is an ink mixture of solid black, 100% K, with additional CMY ink values. This results in a darker tone than black ink alone. If you print black alone as 100% K, the resulting black may not be as dark as you might like.

This will give you a deep, dark, rich black.

*Products that are printed with dye-sublimation (9oz Premium Polyester Banner, Flags, Table Covers, Fabric Tube Displays, etc.)
call for the following color values:
C 100 M 100 Y 100 K 100

Grayscale images that are converted to CMYK will have a color shift in the final print. That shift may be green or yellow.

When using a blue in your design, always make sure to leave at least a 30% difference in your Cyan and Magenta values.

You should always start and finish your designs in CMYK color mode.

Often times, your artwork itself is set-up correctly - however, when you save as PDF - your PDF file will only output the size you have in your document set-up. To ensure your bleed is always acknowledged, you must include the bleed on your artboard (Document Set-up) in addition to the actual size of your finished size desired. i.e. If you order a 24" x 18" Coroplast, your artwork with bleed and document set-up both should actually be 25" x 19".

No. Even the smallest transparency issue will cause problems with a printed file. It is always best to flatten any file you send to Printing.coop. Outline fonts and ensure that your file is in CMYK mode for best results. Printing.coop considers flattening transparency part of basic file setup and will not check for this issue. If you are uncertain how to flatten transparencies in your file or if you would like us to explain how to check for transparency problems please contact Printing.coop prior to submitting an order.

At this time Printing.coop can only accept 1 piece of artwork for any single job of any quantity.

Different versions of Illustrator– have different presets in the "Save PDF" dialog. The PDF presets in Illustrator CS will not save the PDF to the correct document size if any artwork extends past the edge of the document size. It will include all objects, including those that are not visible, producing a PDF with excess white space. This will produce a PDF that is the incorrect size. If not caught prior to submission it will not print as intended.

For Illustrator CS2 and above it is recommended to use the "High Quality Print" preset.

Every file is different and it is not– feasible– to include all possible issues in this FAQ. It is always best to double check your PDF for size and excess white space before uploading.

When using arrows on a double sided sign, special care will need to be taken with the direction of the arrows. If you want the arrows on both sides of the sign to point the same direction when the sign is printed the arrows need to be setup in opposite directions on the production files. It's complicated, we know. See the example illustration below.

For Canvas banner, your files should be in 200 - 250 DPI and CMYK. No bleed is required for us to produce a Canvas banner order but you do need to take into account your own mounting / framing needs.

Here are some rules to keep in mind when creating or checking artwork for Canvas banner:

  • Do not use borders. Stretching may occur in any mounting / framing process and the borders may become uneven.
  • We will not reprint orders that have been damaged during mounting / framing by an outside company.
  • Your artwork should measure the finished size you need and include any additional area for mounting / framing.
  • Since there are many types of mounting applications, we do not include mounting hardware with any Canvas banner print.

Gallery Wrapped Canvas:
Wraps your artwork around the edges of the stretcher bars so you see the image on the face and sides of the frame.

Museum Wrapped Canvas:

  • Uses your photo on the front of the frame and a solid color is added for the edges. It is best that the color for the edges matches the artwork.
  • For Mounted Canvas, your files should be in 200 - 250 DPI and CMYK. They are printed and then gallery wrapped with 3/4" stretcher bars.
    • We require the artwork to follow our templates. This will help visualize the gallery wrap width.

Here are some rules to keep in mind when creating or checking artwork for Mounted Canvas:

  • Do not use borders. Stretching may occur in any mounting / framing process and the borders may become uneven.
  • We currently only offer gallery wrap for all our Mounted Canvas products.
  • Since there are many types of mounting applications, we do not include mounting hardware with any Mounted Canvas print.

All files should be 8 bits per channel.

For contour cut orders, two separate files must be uploaded: one regular artwork file, and one cut mask file. The cut mask file must be an all vector, PDF file uploaded at the same time as the artwork file.

We cannot accept any cut mask files that are made using a raster based program (e.g. Photoshop).

  • When being cut, the blade will follow the cut mask line you’ve created. It is recommended that you keep your perimeter cut line slightly inside the border of the image you are trying to cut out. This will avoid any obvious edges showing from your background once it is cut.
  • Do not use small/thin cut areas, or have perimeter cut lines that are too close together. At least 0.5" must separate your perimeter cut lines from each other. Printing.coop will not reprint any order with perimeter cut lines that are too close to one another.
  • Your contour cut line should be a smooth fully closed path. No disconnected lines or open paths will cut. If your cut line is ragged or has any imperfections, they will show up in the final piece

806121940

Only one cut per order will be allowed. Please do not add multiple cuts in a single file.

1364786442

Printing.coop will not reprint any order attributed to improper file setup or layout.

Raster based artwork such as photos, or flattened artwork (from Adobe Photoshop) are made up of tiny squares (pixels) and depending on your resolution and/or final output size desired, the file could have a low quality end result. Any raster elements you wish to use should have a high enough resolution (DPI) before considering them for your large format product.

Vector based artwork such as illustrations or clip-art style elements (from Adobe Illustrator) is made with mathematical calculations, and can be scaled up to any size without losing quality. Keep in mind that any effects used in Adobe Illustrator are raster based and have transparency - this greatly adds to file size and you must have correct settings in your "Document Raster Effects Settings" to ensure best output for these effects. If you're doing a photo-quality print on a 36" x 48" poster, and leave the raster effects settings at default 72 DPI - you may see tiny squares in your drop shadows, as opposed to a smooth shadow.

While it is not mandatory, we prefer Adobe formats (such as PDF) - if you're using a program outside of Adobe, it will have to be exported from whichever program is being used as one of the following file types - PDF, JPG, or TIF - prior to uploading.

We only print 4 color process (CMYK). If you use Spot or Pantone colors, please have them converted to process colors prior to uploading your file.

We use #2 grommets, they are 3/8" and brass in color. Grommets are placed in all 4 corners, or Top Corners only. Grommet are placed 1 inch from each corner. Starting point from left to right and top and bottom corners.

In addition to sewn hems, Printing.coop also utilizes a hot air welding system that is far stronger than a standard sewn hem, making the need for double hemming a thing of the past.

Files sizes for Printing.coop can be monsterous, chances are your file may take longer than your typical business card file. Your file size and your network connection are the two main factors affecting upload speed. See our Scale & Resolution Example chart at the very top of this faq page.

There are quite a few companies that do just this - convert raster artwork to vector. There are even programs you can buy to accomplish this task. You might want to try a Google search for Raster to Vector art services.

Most printing companies run individual jobs on one sheet. We will utilize the maximum square inch of the sheet by impositioning jobs together dispersing the fixed cost of a job between several projects and then we pass the savings on to you.

When you are done displaying your banner - in order to maximize your future usage, you must keep it clean, dry, and in a dry cool place while it is not in use. Your outdoor vinyl banner will probably get pretty dirty from all the elements during it's time being displayed. The best method of cleaning your outdoor vinyl banner is to lay it flat (if possible) on a clean area, table or floor. It is recommended that you use a mild dishwashing liquid and luke warm water to rinse. Do not use any harsh abrasive or petroleum type cleaners. Clean and dry each side before storing. You must ensure it is completely dry prior to roll up and storage. Any wetness left on the banner will cause mildew and may ruin some of your banner over time.

Once your banner is completely dry - roll it up with the image outward - to avoid any cracking of the printed side. Do not roll your banner super tight or super loose - this will allow for some breathing room while it is stored. Place your banner back in box and store it flat, not vertical. If it is standing up vertically, it may wilt and warp causing wrinkles over time.

2-step H-Stake: Typically used for 24" x 18" and smaller. For signs larger than 24" x 18" we recommend using 2 separate H-Stakes. The wire gauge size used for our H-Stakes is 9 gauge.

455191055

We do not colormatch.

Magnets are not always shipped flat, so it is highly recommended to lay them flat on the hood or roof of your car in the sun for a couple of hours before use. This will help evaporate any moisture build-up that accrued during shipment, if any, and it will help your magnets maintain a flat profile. You may want to keep them in a flat box or on a flat surface at all times and only handle them when cleaning and installing, to help maintain their flatness. We recommend you keep your magnets clean on both sides, as well as the placement area on your car door or area of your choosing must also be clean and free of oils, dust, dirt, and other build-up. It's a good idea to take your magnets inside your home or garage away from the elements and lay them flat in a cool dry place, while not in use. You can clean your magnets with a soft moist cotton cloth with water, no abrasive cleaners. It's recommended that you do not stand them up on their side, as they may wilt and might not lay completely flat on the surface of your car door after wilting. These suggestions are to help the longevity of your magnets.

Note: Be sure to remove the magnet once or twice per week, place it inside your home or garage away from weather elements and lay them flat in a cool dry place while not in use so as to avoid problems from excessive heat exposure.

Printing.coop recommends professional installation for all of its products. Please take care when ordering any Printing.coop product. Take into consideration where the product will be placed and stresses it may be subjected to, such as wind. Printing.coop stands behind all of its products and will QC all orders to the best of its ability but Printing.coopwill not be held responsible for damages resulting from improper installation or use.

Wall Graphics are best suited for surfaces like walls, desks, laptops, and glass. Before applying, clean the surface area with a damp cloth and allow it to fully dry. If any dirt or dust particles remain, they may stick to the low-tack adhesive and reduce the number of times you can reapply the Wall Graphic.

To clean your Wall Graphic, we recommend using a soft, damp cloth on its non-adhesive side. Do not use soap, or any other abrasive cleaning agent, as it may affect the printed surface.

For outdoor applications or vehicles, please see Adhesives or Window Graphics.

We are not currently using archival media or inks for our prints.

Torquing of stretched canvas may occur to mounted canvas due to climatic changes such as temperature, humidity, or other changing environmental conditions. The stretcher bars are made of wood and are vulnerable to changes in humidity. It is recommended that stretched canvas print be kept in a stable climate controlled environment to minimize torquing. These issues maybe more prevalent in coastal locations and near large bodies of water where temperature and humidity levels are constantly changing.

Depending on size and other production variables your banner may be produced in multiple pieces that are seamed together. This production variable is to our discretion.

Rider signs are 4mm Coroplast and are designed to sit on top, or "ride" the standard coroplast signs using 8" metal rider pins. These rider pins are optional. Just like the regular Coroplast signs, these will have a linear effect due to the corrugated flutes. The inks used are UV Cured (dried).

Blockout Vinyl is an opaque material that will not let sun or any light through it. It is also not transparent when looking at it from the back. It’s heavier and more durable than our 13oz Banner material plus it’s low curl so even if it’s stored in a tube, it will stay smooth when rolled out. Blackout Vinyl is perfect for hanging banners or signs where banner opacity is needed.

Backlit Posters are composed of a 9mil semi-rigid material that allows light through. The unique base film and quick-drying glossy top coat on this product are specifically designed for superior light diffusion resulting in vivid backlit graphics.

There are no special requirements for setting up Backlit Poster files. Please make sure the file has a resolution of 200 dpi at full scale. Ensure that you have 0.25" bleed on all sides of your artwork for a 0.5" total.

No, we do not offer hardware for Backlit Posters at this time.

Backlit Posters can be used outdoors as long as they are placed inside a lightbox that provides UV protectant sheets such as styrene or acrylic.

Backlit posters are intentionally printed dark so that when placed into the lightbox and turned on, their true colors show.

Because white ink is not used, large portions of transparent (white) spots in your design could result in the lightbox pattern being visible through your Backlit Poster.

Aluminum Floor Graphics feature a rugged 20 mil aluminum foil material designed to naturally conform to the texture of rough or smooth surfaces. The high-friction/slip-resistant surface improves the stability of pedestrian traffic in the area it is applied and is designed to withstand hot and cold weather conditions. This material exceeds anti-slip safety standards, both when wet and dry.

Aluminum Floor Graphics are printed directly on materials using UV cured inks, rendering it rated for outdoor use. Although this product is designed for outdoor use, harsh weather conditions and extreme traffic may wear down the slip-resistance and require the graphics to be replaced sooner for safety precautions. Indoor applications and locations with lighter pedestrian traffic can prolong the material’s lifespan.

Yes, this material can be used on fairly even, harder surfaces such as concrete, brick, epoxy, etc. For best results, we recommend using a hard rubber roller to roll on the surface of the material after application.

Yes, custom shapes can be requested through the estimating panel on our website.

UV cured inks are printed directly onto the surface of the aluminum panel, resulting in a longer outdoor lifespan.

Files must be submitted in PDF format, without crop marks. Text and graphics should be placed at least 0.5” from the edge of the cutline for safety. Ensure you have 0.5” bleed on all sides of your artwork.

Sweep your desired area clear of dirt, debris or moisture (if the surface is oily, it may need to be power washed with a commercial degreaser). Peel off the release liner from the floor graphic, lay flat on the surface and compress by hand with a roller. Make sure all edges are completely adhered. The high performance pressure-sensitive adhesive provides superior holding strength, enabling it to be ready for immediate use. It can be applied at temperatures of 33℉ / 0℃ or above. Please note, you MUST consider the temperature of the surface to which you’re applying. For instance, stone and metal surfaces are often colder than air temperature. It is ALWAYS recommended to test the application when the temperatures hover around freezing. For best results, it is recommended to apply your floor graphic in temperatures of 50℉ or above.

For maximum bonding results, we recommend using a hard rubber roller to roll on the surface of the material after application. The material can be used on fairly even, harder surfaces such as concrete, brick, epoxy, etc.

Yes, Aluminum Floor Graphics are made from aluminum and contain no PVC or hazardous elements. It can be disposed with aluminum recycling.

Each pixel is composed of three dots representing the three color channels of red, green, and blue light that are necessary for creating a color image on computer monitors and television screens. Because of their small size, the pixels appear to merge, simulating a continuous tone image, but when magnified they appear to be tiny square blocks of light, as shown in the illustration.
